Manage Library Menu

Libraries are special drawing files that contain graphics elements for use on other drawings. Libraries may be installed as user menus. This allows library elements to be quickly applied to a drawing via a simple menu command. This submenu is used to install or remove these library submenus. The submenus are added to the Libraries main menu.

Both tool palettes and libraries may be added to this user menu. This provides a means to provide menu command access to normal EazyDraw drawing tools. This in turn provides a means to apply a keyboard shortcut to a drawing tool. The Menu Keys preferences panel is used to assign key combinations to user menus. First the tool palette needs to be added to this menu, then the desired keys assigned using the Menu Keys panel.

This submenu is accessed from the Libraries main menu, it is near the bottom.

The Add Tools submenu is used to add a standard EazyDraw tool palette to Libraries menu. This is a fixed menu and shows the available and supported EazyDraw tool palettes. Tools menus are added to the top user defined portion of the Libraries main menu.

The Remove Tools submenu is used to remove a standard EazyDraw tool submenu. Only tool menus that are installed are enabled on this menu.

The Add Library menu command is used to install an existing EazyDraw library as a Libraries menu item. This is a standard Open panel that will allow you to navigate your system and select an EazyDraw library file Library menus are added to the middle user defined portion of the Libraries main menu.

The Remove Library submenu is used to remove a EazyDraw Library tool submenu. Only library menus that are installed are shown on this menu.

Library and Tool submenus may display Names or Icons. The Show Name and Show Icons menu items are used to select which are included on your user designed menus. A check mark indicates that the corresponding selection is active. Both may be selected, at least one must be selected.

Notice that a library does not need to be open or visible on the desktop to be used as a menu component. Adding libraries to the menu is one way to free up valuable screen real estate and keep needed tools conveniently at hand.

Notice that installing a library on this menu is completely different from opening a library palette. A library palette does not need to be open in order for it to be used on the menu. Conversely, an open library will not have an active library menu. The library must be overtly added to the menu in order for the library elements to be available as menu commands. Open libraries are shown in the lower portion of the Libraries menu, after both Tools and Libraries installed menus.
