The Toolbar Colors popup menu provides a means to specify the colors that are provided on the main drawing window toolbar’s color picker tools.

This menu is found on the main EazyDraw preferences panel, top right section. Open the panel from the EazyDraw main menu, left side of main menu.

The setting is automatically persistent (remains the same after quitting and restarting EazyDraw) and applies to all drawings. A change for this setting will not change drawing windows that are already open. It does apply to new drawing windows.

Use this popup menu to choose a list of colors for each of the color picker tools that are found on the main drawing window toolbar. All color picker tools must use the same list.

The lists of colors provided for selection are derived from color lists found in your home user library folder, in the Colors folder. Not all lists are allowed. Only solid colors can be used for these tool selections. Any list containing a Pattern color is excluded.

Earlier versions of macOS (10.11 and older) allowed EazyDraw to install color lists for general access on the color palettes tab on the main system color picker. With the advent of sandboxing and tighter security this convenience is no longer available. However, if you are experienced enough to access your main Library folder, which is now hidden, then you can easily install these color tables for general use in EazyDraw and other Apps. The color table files are found in the Application support folder for EazyDraw. Use the finder, or Terminal, to make copies and move the copies to the Colors folder in your home Library folder. See the screen shot at the bottom of the page.

The Default list provided for the color picker tools is named "eazydraw". The main system color picker may be used to add colors to this list. Added colors will appear in all color picker tools. See the notes below that explain when the change takes effect.

EazyDraw Help Pages example

A change for the list of shown colors does not apply to drawing windows that are open and on the desktop at the time of the change. The change does apply when a drawing is opened and the drawing window is newly created for the desktop. To apply the change to an open drawing, simply close it and re-open.

As with all other tools on the main toolbar, all drawing windows will have the same set of tools. This means that all drawing windows must have the same set of colors provided for each color picker in use.

Advanced users will understand that Patterns may be used as a color on macOS. These colors are not allowed on the simple toolbar color picker menus. This limitation is made to avoid confusion for less experienced users. Use the main system color picker to incorporate Pattern colors as colors in a drawing.
