Zoom Calibrate

The Zoom Calibrate calculates a zoom factor using system specifications for the display in use. The calculated zoom value provides screen sizes that roughly match physical sizes.

This button is found on the Zoom Tool Palette .

The Calibrate process finds the screen that contains the center of the drawing, and uses the system reported size and resolution to compute the calibrated zoom percent. When calibrated, lengths on the screen should match those measured by a normal ruler held close to the screen (don't scratch the screen with the ruler).

The calculated zoom factor is shown in the text box of the Zoom Palette at the completion of the process. If the value matches the calibrated value for the display screen, the value is shown in blue.

The zoom value is shown, bottom left corner of the drawing, when an inspector (Graphic Details, or Layers) is open on the left side of the drawing. When the zoom value matches the calibrated value for the display, the value is shown in Blue.

If you move the drawing to another window, change the screen resolution with system preferences, or close and open the drawing on another screen then the Calibrate action must be overtly executed to compute a new calibrated zoom setting - there is no automatic update.
