Math Tool Palette |
The Math Tool Palette provides access to tools for creating curves that follow predefined mathematical equations. These shapes are all drawn in a similar fashion. They are defined by a bounding rotated rectangle which is created in the normal click and drag manner. The Angle Creation Cursor is shown after a tool is selected. The first click and drag defines the angle of the x axis of the function and the second drag defines the y axis extent. The various shapes provide a rotated rectangle defining handles and one or two extra interactive handles used to manipulate the free variables of the defining equation. The controls are available for use after the initial creation step. If a particular variation on a shape is needed several times. Create the shape, adjust the controls as desired, then use copy/paste or one of the several duplicate options to obtain multiple copies. You may also keep pre-defined shapes in a separate drawing and simply drag them to the current drawing when needed. The Graphic Details Inspector provides inspection and numerical entry for all parametric values used to define the curve. |
