There are excellent charting applications for your Mac, with a great deal of structure to assist your charting project. EazyDraw too has a solid suite of charting foundation capability, but since it is a full capability drawing application you are free to create your charts the way they need to be.
Charting Graphics:
The Charting Tool Palette provides many shapes and graphic forms that are useful in illustrating a charting diagram such as a Genealogy Chart.
Any Graphic May Contain Text Or Photo:
Add text to the interior of any graphic with a simple double click. Place a photo or scanned document into any of the charting graphic shapes. Your vector graphics may be used to crop or frame the inserted graphics.
Connectors With Style:
Choose from different forms of Connecting paths, straight, orthogonal, or free form. Then stylize the connecting lines, adjust line width, color, and dash patterns or arrows.
Full Spotlight Support
EazyDraw is fully integrated with the macOS Finder Spotlight capability. EazyDraw has drivers that fully index the text content of your drawing for access by Spotlight. This makes the distributed information in your charts fully accessible to a global system "Find".
Great Guides
Turn on Grids and Guides to easily align graphics as you draw. Snap vertices or form up parallel objects. Cloak background graphics to avoid guide clutter. Positioning guides locate intersections (real and virtual), parallel axes and perpendicular lines.
Connectors are Key
Charting is best with attached connector graphics. These connector graphics will attach to other graphics. As the host graphic is moved the connector follows along. Both a free form and orthogonal path connector lines available.
