The "Graphic Details Inspector" presents definitive digital information for any graphic on a drawing. Use the top menu command on the Tools menu to open the Graphic Details Inspector. Or the "Details" toolbar button is used to open or close this Inspector. The information area appears at the side of the drawing window. EazyDraw tries to make an intelligent decision about which side to use. You may control the side used with menu commands provided on the View main menu. There is an Inspectors submenu near the bottom of the View main menu. Use the selections there to set a specific side for either this Graphic Details inspector or the Layers inspector. You may close a Inspector by grabbing the handle on the right center edge of the Inspector and pulling it closed with your mouse. There are no hidden variables, the numeric information provided on the Graphic Details Inspector is complete, all metrics that EazyDraw uses to define a graphic are available for user inspection and input.
The Mark Center check box has a dual purpose, it controls display of the center mark and the availability of the defined center point for snapping. When the Center Mark of a graphic is showing, the defined center point is available for vertex snapping and for Connector or Dimensions attach. If the Center Mark is not showing, snapping does not happen at the defined center. When this Inspector is open, there is a greater load on your CPU. The dynamic values displayed in the graphic details Inspector require computation and updating. If you are using an older or limited power CPU you may notice some performance degradation, especially with text examining individual characters. If the Inspector is closed, EazyDraw skips these computations. So when not in use closing the Inspector may improve responsiveness. That being said, the Graphic Detail's computations are quite efficient and nearly all current processors have sufficient speed to make this overhead negligible. The values shown for each different graphic form are largely self explanatory. There are brief descriptions explaining the parameters available each graphic form, links to these are found on the Inspecting Graphics page. Text information is itself quite detailed, the Inspecting Text page provides links to this documentation. |
