Shear, Skew, & Rotate

Add an Affine transform (sometimes called a Free Transform) to any graphic, then use the interactive on-screen handles to apply a distortion or scaling transform. These may be applied to vector graphics, individual or group graphics, text, outlined text and even images.

Adjust Interactively or With the Inspector

A fully detailed inspector is available to precisely adjust the individual Free Transform variables. The numerical values of the transform are available for fine detail adjustments or entering precise values for defined geometric operations. Several pre defined transforms are provided, and any transform may be saved as a user named custom transform.

Clean User Interface

The important thing is that the Free Transform is definable as a specific interaction level, so it is not "in your way" when it does not apply. We keep in mind that fancy capabilities like this are fun when needed but are not actually used all that often. The complexity is swept away when not in use.

Apply Mode

The inspector palette provides an interface for other important actions, such as "Applying" the transform to a Bezier graphic. A vector graphic, even a complex multi-level group, will accept the Apply command. The individual Bezier parameters are morphed to new control points and the graphic is returned to Bezier editing mode. Apply is a distinction that is hard to explain in a few words but is a feature that you will be using frequently.

Open User Interface
EazyDraw’s interaction level concept has the advantage that a secret handshakes such as "Control Shift Click Drag" are NOT required to access this capability. When the free transform is in use, it is right on the screen or accessible from the menu system which makes it fully discoverable (or for some of us: re-discoverable).
On - Off Switch
If a Free Transform is "turned off", it is remembered and may be turned back on -- with the same scaling and distortion. This allows one to edit the graphic (Vector or Text) in the natural non-distorted shape. Then quickly return to the finished distorted appearance.
Use With Bitmap Content
The Free Transform is not limited to just vector graphics (lines and curves). It may be applied to photos and other clip art and other bitmap images. The same interactive controls or the inspector are used to apply these advance image distortions with just a few mouse clicks.
